He may be a youngster in comparison to the players that dominate the poker world, but Michael Mizrachi has already proven to be a serious poker player with lots of potential. Already two WSOP bracelets, two World Poker Tour and millions in winnings. But the most important, all the senior poker players agree that not only Michael has a talent for poker, but he may be even the best overall tournament player in the world. And that statement has some proof. So who is Michael Mizrachi?

Story of Michael Mizrachi

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi comes from a large family and has 3 brothers. In a way, he is in the middle (Robert is the oldest, who by the way has won a WSOP Bracelet in 2007, Michael and Eric are twins and there is the youngest Donnie). Three oldest brothers including Micheal are all professional poker players while the youngest in the family became a professional magician, but started playing live cash games just recently. All of the brothers were introduced to poker by their mother. Michael began playing online poker for real money since 13 years old. Of course, becoming a pro came much later.

Michael Mizrachi stated playing live tournaments only since 2004 when he was 23 years old. Everybody thinks that Michael got his nickname 'The Grinder' for his consistent results at the felt, always slowly but steadily moving forward in the tournaments bus as he admitted himself he actually tries to play the opposite of slow and steady, to play aggressive, cash game style.

These kind of results not only have made him a very rich man, but made other poker pros admit that he is one of the best in the world. Michael Mizrachi has been playing in season 2 of TV show High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark.. In 2006 he was recognized as the Player of the Year by the CardPlayer Magazine.

Michael Mizrachi has been playing in live tournaments for 8 years but already he has some incredible wins including 3 WSOP and WSOP Europe Gold Bracelets and overall 29 money finishes, 2 WPT titles with 13 cashes, etc. But probably the most significant win in his double title in 50k Players' Championship in 2010 and 2012. It is a tournament with a unique format including all types of poker. The fact that Mizrachi has won it twice probably makes him the best overall poker player in the world.

Since being a kid Michael Mizrachi and his brothers were playing online poker for money and took home some spectacular sums of money including $4.000 and $8.000. But it seems now that it was just the start of the long and mind-blowing poker journey. As of now Mizrachi has over $14 million in overall winnings including over $7 million in WSOP winnings and $4.6 million in WPT Events.

Interesting facts:

• A very active philanthropist – organizes lots of charities, raises money by selling his brand name armbands, etc. To promote the raising of the money funded a trip to WSOP for the winner of his lottery.
• All of his brothers play poker professionally as well as their mother Susan Laufer Mizrachi and Michael's wife Aidiliy .
