Two new poker shows to be aired

  • Tune in Discovery Channel tomorrow for a new show about poker featuring Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak.

  • This week we talk about shows that have been appearing TV. Recently, everyone has been talking about two new poker movies - Runner Runner and Gutshot Straight. Now there are two poker shows that will be aired soon. That’s Pokerstars $1 Million Shark Cage and Underground Poker on Discovery Channel.

    Underground Poker

    Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak are well-known best friends. For years they have been inseparable. Once again the dynamic duo has returned in a new show called Underground Poker.

    Esfandiari and Laak are both old-school poker players that have made millions in live poker. Other thing they love to do is complete against each other. They both did a show called “I bet you” where they would challenge each other on everything.

    Tomorrow, September 10th switch on the Discovery Channel for a new show – Underground Poker. Laak and Esfandiari explore city after city in search for private poker games and try to get in them. The first city they are going to visit is New Orleans.

    Excited for “$1 million Shark Cage?

    Speaking about TV shows, it’s about time for PokerStars to show what they have been working si9nce EPT Season 10. If you don’t know, Shark Cage features Vicky Coren, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, David Williams, Jennifer Tilly, other poker pros and PokerStars qualifiers.

    The goal is either to bluff your opponent or call a bluff. One mistake and you have to go down to the Shark Cage. Literary, a cage with sharks.

    But the show was announced almost a year ago! Since then PokerStars has been releasing videos with teasers like this:

    As of now, two Heats have been filmed and hopefully very soon they will be uploaded to YouTube and Pokerstars blog.
