Phil Ivey $9 million law suit

When we launched Poker Players Base, one of the first stories we got to write about was this big thing with Phil Ivey’s big win at the Crockfords Casino. But the casino refuses to pay!

But that was a long time ago. Two years into the story the picture is much clearer. Especially now with the second casino – Borgata not wanting to pay up and even suing Ivey for $9,6 million.

As it is clear now, Ivey travels around casinos with a friend, plays Punto Banco and Baccarat and utilizes imperfections on cards to increase his edge against the casino. Even though casinos know that, they allow him to continue gambling but once he wins, they refuse to pay.

As a poker industry website, we of course may be biased but honestly, this looks like cheating. By casinos. They use gamblers to freeroll. If the casino wins, they keep the money. If the gambler wins, they are allowed not to pay.

And the most important fact of the matter, these are casino’s cards. Shouldn’t they be responsible for the quality of their cards?

    Vanessa Selbst vs. Rafael Nadal

These are definitely two names that don’t need introductions. Vanessa Selbst, highest earning female poker player and the contender, Rafael Nadal sat down this weekend.

Even though Nadal won his first charity event, he was no match for Selbst. Of course, both players only had nice things to say about each other afterwards.

Pokerstars released a highlights video of the event:
