  • Hey, everybody! How are you today? This time we talk about EPT Vienna, Antonio Esfandiari and a new tournament type to be launched on Thursday.

Antonio Esfandiari is one of the most down-to-earth poker players. With $26 million he’s currently leading All-time money list followed by Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu and Erik Seidel. But you probably know that he did not start out with poker but with magic. That’s why at the poker table he’s called the Magician.

Well, if you missed it, 6-part series featuring Esfandiari doing magic in the streets of Las Vegas have been released. It’s called Strip Magic. In the series Esfandiari does all kinds of magic tricks in Las Vegas and talks a little bit about his background. If you like Antonio, you should definitely check it out.

Currently two episodes are published with one more coming later today. Antonio Esfandiari is a sponsored pro at Ultimate Poker so you can find the episodes on their Youtube channel Here’s episode 1 to get you started:

A new kind of a poker tournament

Full Tilt Poker is planning to release a new type of a poker tournament called Flipout. Essentially, it’s a tournament of two stages. The first hand is a 9-handed instant all-in.

One player per table to survive advanced to the next stage where a usual tournament play resumes with everyone being already ITM. How does that sound?

Let’s be honest. Full Tilt Poker has always been innovative as they introduced fast-fold poker in the first place. Now you can even play Adrenaline Rush, a 4-handed poker game with 5-10 big blinds. And it’s debatable whether their new poker games are good or bad for the game overall. Including these new Flipout Tournaments.

On one side, it makes the start of a tournament into a bit of a gambling-based game rather than a skill-based one. On the other side, it doesn’t waste time: either you’re in the money or you’re out in 1 minute.

The format is launching on Thursday so you’ll be able to test it out for yourself very soon. In the meantime, contact us on Facebook or Google+ and let us know what you think about it!
