WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Classic

The tournament has a few hours until Day 4 begins. Only 59 players remain out of the total 449. Don Nguyen leads the pack with 774.500 chips according to WPT.com. Among the casualties of Day 3 are Daniel Negreanu (that was among the chip leaders from the start.), Dan Shak and Tony Dunst, WPT poker presenter and the recent WPT winner.

On a side note, Jason Somerville and Antonio Esfandiari decided to make a little side bet worth $10.000. The bet was simply on who would last longer in the tournament however the deal-making part on Twitter was pretty funny:

Unfortunately for Jason soon enough he was out while Antonio still has 110.000 chips coming into Day 4. Somerville also tweeted that next week he challenged Esfandiari to a $10k HU match that will take place on Ultimate Poker (the site they both represent). Can Esfandiari go 2 for 2?

Even though the event is slowly coming to an end, there’s plenty of poker action to follow. For example, EPT Prague kicks off today. The main event will take place 12-18 December. It’s the third stop of the Season 10 with PCA, Deauville, Vienna, San Remo and Monte-Carlo still coming up in 2014.

EPT Prague is guaranteed to bring lots of great stories. One of which will focus on Team Pokerstars Sport member Rafael Nadal and his first live poker tournament. Also, it has always been a record-breaking event. Let’s see what this year brings.
