ESPN announced their monthly Leaderboard of the best poker players

  • Spanish player Leo Margets is signed as new Pokerstars pro while among live events there are UIKPT, EPT London and WPT London.

  • March is a month for live events in UK. Poker rooms like PKR Poker, Party Poker and Pokerstars have separate special events in London coming up plus the world-known World Poker Tour and European Poker Tour events are also held. This is a very special month for poker players. You have time to join these games or at least follow the updates from the largest poker events!

    Nuts of the Week

    • Are we to wait for an avalanche? Yes, online poker in U.S. is the most escalated story and everyone speculates on what is the future going to be. One of the poker stories this week is about the possible domino effect after the most popular governor in U.S. Chris Christie has accepted online poker bill.

    • Leo Margets as a new Pokerstars pro. Poker players from Spain, Leo Margets is finally signed as Pokerstars pro. She has been a regular in almost every EPT event there is and has produced some spectacular results.

    • WPT Bay 101 Shooting star is underway. On Day 1B there are lots of well-known poker players still in – Jason Somerville, Johnathan Duhamel, Scott Seiver, Bertrand Grosspelier, John Juanda, Kyle Julius, Jason Mercier, Mike Matusow. Some of the players that are out include Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu and Michael Mizrachi.

    • UIKPT London kicked off yesterday. Day 1A saw almost 200 players enter. Day 1B will have final results on player pool and prizepool.

    • Along with UIKPT, EPT London has started. There are no updates so far as but as soon as we have anything, we will pass it on to you.

    Party Poker Premier League

    WPT London is one more event this March in London. You may know that Party Poker Premier League will be held during this event, as well. A unique 16-player tournament will feature top poker players in the world.

    Party Poker Premier League VI is an $125.000 invitational event that will begin on 17 March, 2013 and will run until 23rd. There are still 2 players missing that should be announced soon. Stay tuned for more updates.

    Gus Hansen versus Daniel Negreanu (updates)

    Well, the deal has been finalized. There is the time, the place, the match-ups. Everything. So, on Full Tilt Poker Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan and Viktor Blom aka “The Professionals” will play heads-up versus Pokerstars Pros Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand Grosspelier and Isaac Haxton.

    The games will take place on 10 March and due to a large selection of players Negreanu has, Hansen was able to select who plays whom. Here are the match-ups:

    Phil Ivey is ESPN's number one!

    Every month ESPN announces the Top 10 Best Players of the last month. After a spectacular appearance in Aussie Millions in January, Phil Ivey says number one in February as well despite the lack of noteworthy personal results in February. However, an amazing performance by TeamIvey members helped him stay on top.

    Highest move up was by Marvin Rettenmaier while the biggest decline was by his arch rival on Global Poker Index, Dan Smith. Anther great high roller event win for Sam Trickett saw him climb to Top 10.
