A new poker challenge coming up – Daniel Negreanu vs Gus Hansen

  • A real big challenge is coming up at WPT London. Daniel Negreanu has challenged Gus Hansen for a High Stakes rematch.

  • A few days ago recent tweets between top poker pros Danial Negreanu and Gus Hansen made all of the poker community laugh. Each was pinching the other for some bad results in poker. Well, that escalated quickly as today Daniel Negreanu has challenged Gus Hansen and his fellow FTP'ers Tom Dwan and Viktor Blom to a triple duel. That's only on of the news today.

    Nuts of the Week:

    • New Jersey – third to legalize online poker. Gov. Chris Christie quickly approved the bill that was put on his desk yesterday. This makes 3 out of 50 states with legalized online poker.
    • Daniel Negreanu Charity Challenge ended with a total of $280.000 raised. Check out the video below for more.

    WPT L.A. Poker Classic Day 3

    One of the most luxurious events of the season is currently running – WPT L.A. Poker Classic. Each of 513 players who entered will be looking to repeat what Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen and Michael Mizrachi have done before.

    The prizepool featured is almost $5 million and whoever wins the $10.000 Main Event will walk away with $1 million. Among two tables still playing there is WSOP 2012 Final Table players Jeremy Ausmus as sixth biggest stack. The Tournament Leader is Toby Lewis.

    Among those who tried but did not succeed there are Scott Seiver (52nd), Dan Shak (49th), Joe Hachem (33rd) and Galen Hall (22nd). Updates at WPT official site

    Daniel Negreanu Challenges Gus Hansen

    If you haven't been following twitter updates of these poker players, here is a brief introduction. Gus Hansen tweeted Negreanu about the hand, Hansen won over half a million of Daniel:

    Negreanu gave a bit back by pointing out that Gus Hansen has not had his best shape at poker tables:

    That escalated quickly into a challenge that now the whole poker community is very looking forward. Negreanu has invited Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan and Viktor Blom (Team Full Tilt Poker) to play heads up versus Negreanu and two other Pokerstars pros.

    The newest update: Gus Hansen has accepted the challenge on his behalf but suggested to be the one to choose his opposition as he has only two picks while Negreanu has a bunch of proffessional poker players to choose from.
