The poker community was quick to respond. In other news, WPT in Jacksonville is about to start and we are guaranteed to see some first-class superstars.

    We have to start a little low today. Doyle Brunson is today's biggest poker legend. He has been with poker since the days most of us don't even imagine. He was among the very first World Series of Poker. He is a true poker icon. And that was clear as sky when the whole poker community started buzzing after one of the most saddening Doyle Brunson's tweets on Tuesday, 6 November. He has been diagnosed with a Squamous cell carcinoma.

    The good news seems to be, as far as we can tell from the Brunson's tweets that the prognosis is optimistic as its a 'slow growth type'. Here are his recent tweets:

    WPT has announced 2013 Schedule

    U.S. poker players may not be able to play poker online yet but they certainly get a lot of live poker events. For example, World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour. Actually, some of the largest stops of the year WPT hosts in the U.S and this attracts many poker stars that reside in U.S and Canada. For example, the professional poker player representing Canada, Daniel Negreanu has missed a couple of European Poker Tour events, but he has booked seats in three WPT events in one month period.
