Let's recap EPT San Remo

  • Summer and poker? USA. Autumn and poker? Europe. Many events are ongoing right now such as EPT Season 9 San Remo. It has just finished with Ludovic Lacay coming on top.

  • Just a week passed since the EPT San Remo Main Event has finished that was won by Ludovic Lacay. The event was a huge success as well as the Highroller event where we saw Pokerstars Pro Jason Duhamel along with many others. The Highroller event was won by Benny Spindler whose also a recent winner of EPT London. Here is how both events ended and what's more to come this year.

EPT Season 9 San Remo Main Event

The recently passed San Remo is only the second stop of this season's Eropean Poker Tour. We will see plenty of action in Prague, the Caribbean, Deauville, London and Berlin. This year's EPT San Remo €5,000 + 300 Main Event Main Event attracted 797 players to strive for the main prize - €744,910.

After a roller coaster of ups and downs, Ludovic Lacay came out as a winner. What's interesting though is that all the poker stars and celebrities did not do very well. Fan's favorites Liv Boeree, Chris Moneymaker barely finished in the money with many others saying goodbye much earlier. Keep in mind, Boeree has won the EPT San Remo in 2010.

Boeree wins EPT San Remo in 2010:

that was surely a great event. But EPT San Remo Main Event was followed by Highroller event with 74 poker professionals ready to share €840.000 prizepool. Event though the payout saw some well-known players finish very gihs (Mikalai Pobal, Joseph Cheong) the star of the event was Benny Spindler taking down his second EPT Event in a year!

Spindler won the EPT London on 30 September, 2011 claiming $1,172,241 prize. Now his prize is still a spectacular $ 371,858. It was not an easy battle. Spindler entered Day 2 of the Event in 19th in chips with 112.100 in hands and had to face fierce competition versus Johnathan Duhamel, Eugene Katchalov, Vanessa Rousso, Luca Pagano and many others.
