  • Autumn is a time when many tournaments kick off. European Poker Tour, World Poker Tour and others not to mention the tournaments online. One massive tournament that now runs online is the Pokerstars WCOOP 2012 where you will meet some of the biggest poker stars play such as Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, Liv Boree. WCOOP 2012

One of the largest tournament series that is always very much anticipated has kicked off this week. So far, ten tournaments were held but they do not seem to be very successful yet for Team Pokerstars Pro Daniel Negreanu. For example, one of the first events he played was Event 3 – PLO where he managed to finish in 977th among 1700 pool.

Still he does not seem to find his luck as yesterday in Event 9 – PLO (Knockout) that was entered by 1000 players, KidPoker finished in 585. One of the events he was very looking forward to:

Even though it was more successful than the previous ones, KidPoker is still yet to cash in WCOOP 2012.

Not far away from Negreanu's results we find another Pokerstars Pro – Vanessa Rousso. In the same event that we just wrote about, Event 10 -$320 NL Hod'em Ante Up she finished in 627 out of 1637 entrants. Also, she just busted from Event 11 - $215 NL Holdem in 357th out of 2159 players. More information you can find in Pokerstars Blog with all the latest coverage of the WCOOP.

Here are the highlights from Event 02 from Pokerstars:

    Massive tournament in Macau

Also, we have already announced that many of the first-class poker stars arrived in Macau to play in a very pricey High Roller event. $250.000 buy-in attracted the likes of Erik Seidel, Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen.

We do not know whether the luck was not on their side or maybe the jetlag had caught up with them but many of the superstars did not go very far. The tournament was meant to run one day only so the unusually fast action may have done the trick.

Although a large pool of stars such as Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan, Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Brian Rast, Erik Seidel, Joe Hachem, Nam Le, Igor Kurganov, John Juanda, Johnny Chan, Sam Trickett, Andrew Robl entered the tournament was won by Stanley Choi. High Stakes Cash games pros Phil Ivey and Sam Trickett also managet to rake a piece of the massive prizepool.

The final payout table looks like this:

    1 Stanley Choi     $6,465,560
    2 Zhu Guan Fa     $4,349,610
    3 Nicholas Wong $3,291,506
    4 Tang Zheng     $2,233,531
    5 John Juanda     $1,645,753
    6 Lap Key Chen     $1,234,347
    7 Sam Trickett     $999,184
    8 Phil Ivey     $822,941
