  • Among WSOP Top bracelet winners in 5th place we find Erik Seidel. He has claimed 8 bracelets and shares the spot with another poker legend Phil Ivey. Unfortunately, for the fifth consecutive year Erik Seidel fails to increase his WSOP Title collection as on day 2 he busts out from the 43rd Annual WSOP $10.000 buy-in Main Event.

Erik Seidel, 8-time world poker champion has already played in his 25th World Series of Poker. It may not have been the most successful year for the ex-Full Tilt Pro, but he seems to see both sides of the story. His recent tweet @Erik_Seidel claimed:

'List of top players & their returns at WSOP. I'm happy w my cash % but not w result'

The list Seidel was referring to was the one put by a poker enthusiast 'IhateJJ' at 2+2 Poker forum where he counted entries and cashed in the 43rd Annual WSOP . The forum member claimed he excluded One Drop as it 'seemed like a “one-off exhibition”, rather than a tournament for the general player pool'. That table shows that 28 players were profitable, while 62 were not with Seidel being among the majority. His line says

Entries – 27 (paid $106.000), while his finished in the money in 6 events with $50.047. Which means $55,953 loss. However, 6 cashes in 27 events is quite a good percentage in comparison to the competition everyone is against in such a big poker event. His overall position in 2011 WSOP Player of the Year list is 203 of 500 and his performance exceeds the likes of Mike Matusow, Sam Holden and Scott Seiver. Let's hope Seidel is going to have a better year in WSOP 2013.
